Located atop the Moxy Williamsburg hotel, LilliStar is a new indoor-outdoor cocktail bar and lounge in Brooklyn. Developer Lightstone Group worked in tandem with hospitality group Bar Lab (the team behind the popular Broken Shaker concept) to envision a beach-inspired narrative for the rooftop.
Drawing references from the artists, food, and surfers of 1990s Bali, the space is bedecked with tropical touches designed to transport guests from Brooklyn to the Pacific. Playful, seasonal cocktails and Balinese barbecue are served among a palette of coral, green, orange, and yellow hues. Anchoring the space is a 31-foot-long green marble bar with swirls of black, white, and light green veining, surrounded by hand-shaped chairs and serpentine, bamboo-accented banquettes. Above, wooden light fixtures evoke palm fronds to continue the theme.
“LilliStar’s relaxed yet sophisticated design, free flow between indoor and outdoor space, and its showstopping views of the Manhattan skyline, are unparalleled,” says Mitchell Hochberg, president of Lightstone Group. “The design naturally reflects the diversity and creativity of its surroundings with the intent of becoming a destination for visitors and a long-lasting staple for residents of the neighborhood.”
