The old federal courthouse in downtown Tampa, Florida, will become a hotel, according to the Tampa Tribune. Development Services Group will redevelop the 107-year-old building with help from construction firm the Beck Group and Kobi Karp Architects of Miami. The team will retain the historic building’s Beaux Arts-style architecture, high ceilings, and marble corridors. Plans also call for 110 guestrooms, a restaurant, and bar. The project still needs to secure $22 million in funding and a feasibility study. The development firm is considering flying the Le Meridien flag once the property is revamped.
