Hard Rock International has planted its latest flag in Midtown Manhattan with the launch of Hard Rock Hotel New York. Steps away from historic Music Row, the new property pays homage to the recording studio mecca with curated amenities and a glitzy and intricate design by locally based Jeffrey Beers International (JBI). “We could not be more thrilled and excited to see our artistic expression of music come to life at the new Hard Rock Hotel New York,” says architect Jeffrey Beers.
Musical expression is celebrated throughout the design, with features from guitars and brass wind instruments to music notes and sound waves reinterpreted into sculptural details. A bold materiality including lush dark wood, striking marble, opulent brass, and tactile leather and velvet instill a sumptuous quality across the interior.
The Hard Rock Hotel New York is also aptly home to the Venue on Music Row. Spread across two floors, the Venue channels the grandeur of a bygone era ripe with jazz clubs, speakeasies, and dinner theaters. Onsite F&B options include NYY Steak, which is outfitted with Mozambique wood paneling, and the RT60 bar and lounge located on the 34th floor. The all-day Sessions Restaurant & Bar also welcomes guests on the main level, accessible via a spiral staircase that leads visitors from the street through a light-filled atrium that expands into an open-air terrace where unplugged live performances are hosted as well.
Floor-to-ceiling windows frame skyline vistas in the hotel’s 446 accommodations. Vibrant blue hues and gold accents characterize rooms inspired by the marquees and city sunsets, while sculptural headboards and sound wave patterns features on carpets accentuate the musical motif.
The Rock Star suite on the 36th floor—the centerpiece of the guestroom lineup—comprises a glass-enclosed penthouse animated with original contemporary artwork, music memorabilia, and a backdrop of towering views. Beyond rich tones, textures, and double-height ceilings of the interior, the suite also boasts a sprawling 1,600-square-foot terrace.
