Hard Rock International has announced plans for its second hotel and casino in the Dominican Republic. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Santo Domingo will be located in the heart of the capital city. Featuring a casino and 400 rooms and suites, the property, a collaboration with the All Inclusive Collection, is scheduled to open in late 2017.
“The Dominican Republic is the region’s most visited country and continues to be the top performing destination in the Caribbean. In fact, the country received 19 percent of the record number of 26.3 million visitors to the Caribbean region in 2014,” says Nelson Parker, Hard Rock’s vice president of casino development. “The decision to bring a full service hotel and the brand’s second Caribbean casino to the Dominican Republic is a testament to the country’s remarkable strength in tourism.”
The modern 23,000-square-foot casino will feature two bars, a race and sports book, high limit slots, 400 slot machines, and 40 table games. An exclusive suite floor will be available for guests with special access. The casino area will also include a screening room and a nightclub that opens up to the main pool.
The property will also include 33,000 square feet of meeting space, making it ideal for groups and weddings. Amenities include the Rock Shop, which sells the Hard Rock’s merchandise brand, the Rock Spa, and the Body Rock gym. Along with myriad restaurants and bars, guests will also have access to Santo Domingo’s main shopping center Blue Mall, as well as the National Aquarium and botanical gardens.
