Hyatt Centric has opened its first location outside of North America, the Hyatt Centric Montevideo, which is also the second Hyatt-branded property in Uruguay. The 178-guestroom hotel is situated in the heart of the city in the popular Pocitos district near the coastal La Rambla avenue.
The lobby welcomes guests with a large lounge and a stained glass-inspired ceiling that fills the space with natural light, while mosaic floors and local artwork throughout add a local flair. The lobby bar, deli, and library are also flooded with light and enjoy views of the Rio de la Plata.
All guestrooms and 14 suites feature a minimal design balanced with contemporary furniture and artwork inspired by the local landscapes. Visitors staying in executive rooms or suites are afforded exclusive access to the rooftop lounge, which offers 180-degree views of the waterfront. In addition to the lobby deli and onsite restaurant Plantado, the Moderno Bar is a vibrant evening retreat with eclectic décor and scenic views.
The Hyatt Centric Montevideo features 18,700 square feet of event space, including a multifunctional ballroom and six upscale meeting rooms named after influential Uruguayan female poets as a nod to the city’s history.
