Luxury brand JW Marriott opens its first property in Spain with the launch of the JW Marriott Hotel Madrid. Located in the Canalejas zone of the Spanish capital, the 139-room property boasts an elegant design from Rockwell Group that incorporates natural materials and a neutral palette conceived to soothe.
“We can literally see JW Marriott from Rockwell Group’s Madrid studio and our knowledge of the neighborhood informed our design approach,” says Rockwell Group studio leader and principal Eva Longoria. “We wanted to create a warm, welcoming, and peaceful respite for travelers and residents alike that honors the local culture and history of the building.”
Formerly home to one of the oldest perfumeries in Madrid, the historic site has been revitalized with a residential-style ambiance comprising warm, neutral tones and details like monochromatic, vertical wooden fins that establish a relaxing vibe.
Original wrought iron columns span the lobby restaurant, which is also clad with mirrors to heighten drama, while El Patio JW Garden serves as a lush urban oasis. A fitness center and wellness area are also featured onsite the JW Marriott Hotel Madrid.
Subtly carved wood doors lead to flexible guestrooms layered with a palette of cream, beige, gray, and warm burnt orange. Each suite is linked to a private terrace populated by custom leather seating and marble tables as well.
