Mandarin Oriental, Singapore reopened this fall following a six-month transformation with a refreshed design by DESIGNWILKES that seamlessly melds the city-state’s natural landscape, cultural heritage, and architectural traditions.
The hotel boasts a total of 510 rooms and suites that blur the line between the indoors and outdoors. Marina Bay-facing rooms, for instance, incorporate dappled batik patterns and a cooler color palette that reflects the waters of Marina Bay. Meanwhile, rooms with views of the South China Sea are bathed in warm tones reminiscent of the morning sun, and city-facing accommodations mirror Singapore’s natural greenery with lush botanical prints.
Among the 42 luxury suites is the newly debuted presidential suite and the four-bedroom royal Marina Bay penthouse. Perched on the uppermost floors with panoramic ocean views, these suites feature expansive balconies and spacious living and dining areas.
Mandarin Oriental, Singapore’s public spaces embody a relaxed atmosphere, with the lobby awash in natural light and bright colors. Above the lobby lounge, crystal spheres of Vanda Joaquim orchids pay tribute to Singapore’s national flower. Next to the lobby is a chic patisserie, the Mandarin Cake Shop.
Onsite dining experiences include all-day concept embu, which offers a garden-style space with a specially tailored kids’ buffet and playground. The hotel’s transformed lounge, HAUS 65 is a sophisticated social space that features programming co-curated by Mandala Club.
