Led by Marco Piva and his eponymous Milanese design practice, the Pantheon Iconic Rome Hotel, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, is set welcome visitors in the heart of the Eternal City. The hotel’s aesthetic is inspired by the geometry and material palette of the nearby Pantheon.
The design is characterized by circular motifs as well as marble and brass elements throughout. Piva also employed a variety of lighting effects to highlight some of the building’s unique moments. In the lobby, visitors are greeted with a registration desk cut from a single marble slab. The intimate lobby bar evokes sophistication with Sahara Noir polished marble flooring and a large circular light fixture that recalls the oculus of the Pantheon. Embodying contemporary Roman opulence, the Dionysus Restaurant is outfitted with original, handcrafted bronze artwork, high-vaulted ceilings, and an LED glass window that allows diners to watch dishes as they are prepared. A dedicated breakfast area is also featured, complete with indoor-outdoor seating and oversized windows that frame city views. Additional public spaces include the lobby gallery and boutique.
All 79 guestrooms, including 20 suites, are appointed with custom furniture and furnishings as well as original artwork. Elegant upholstery appears in each room alongside encased, locally inspired décor and bathrooms crafted with marble and glass. Installed six stories above the street, the Divinity Terrace Lounge includes handcrafted gray sofas and beige armchairs that overlook Rome atop white statuario marble floors. The space also boasts an intricate brass wall installation and a bar.
