Designed by San Francisco-based KMD Architects and Taller GLOBAL, the 153-room Ritz-Carlton, Mexico City will launch in 2019 under a long-term management agreement with Thor Urbana Capital and Heldan Hotels & Resorts .
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company’s first offering in Mexico City will be developed within Chapultepec Uno—a 1.1-million-square-foot, mixed-use complex in the city’s financial center that will span 58 floors, making it one of the city’s tallest buildings. Overlooking Chapultepec Park, the hotel will occupy floors 36 through 47. Amenities will include a club lounge and spa.
The company’s announcement follows a number of recent developments, such as a multi-phase renovation of the Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, the addition of the Ritz Mandapa in Bali, and the $8 million renovation of the Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale. The Ritz-Carlton portfolio is expected to reach 100 hotels by the end of next year.
