The TETRA Hotel, Autograph Collection has debuted in Sunnyvale, California. The new luxury property is linked to its sister property, the AC Hotel by Marriott Sunnyvale Moffett Park, via an indoor-outdoor communal and artistic hub known as the Nexus, which is outfitted with dramatic sculptures, seating enclaves, and pop-up activations.
Designed by New York firm Gabellini Sheppard, the 186-room TETRA is distinguished by modern interiors that are both elevated and understated. “The hotel provides a unique spatial experience that calms and rebalances the synthesis between life, work, nature, and technology—allowing guests to relax, recharge, re-energize, and reconnect with the things that matter most,” says Gabellini Sheppard associate and interior designer Tomoko Hirose. “Our design’s layered natural elements, artisanal and tactile materials, wooden cocoon and glowing glass veils embody the guests’ experience of retreat, a well-balanced life, and getting back to basics with the simple sophistication found in nature.”
A dark palette characterized by organic elements, like wood slats across the ceiling and a communal live-edge wood table near reception, establishes a sense of tranquility. Modern art, including hanging sculptures installed over the bar to a canopy tree, also enlivens the interior against its muted backdrop.
F&B options boast modern Japanese fusion restaurant Adrestia, Japanese whiskey bar Nokori, and café and retail space Coffee Manufactory. The hotel’s 9,000 square feet of meeting and event space comprises a trio of high-tech meeting rooms and flexible lounge areas as well. A fitness center and heated outdoor pool round out the onsite amenities.
Each of the guestrooms and 14 suites honor the contemporary aesthetic with unique elements like bathrooms enclosed in a translucent glass box and an effortless spatial flow expressed via details like the open and integrated floating closet, desk, and bench. A light palette contrasts colorful accents and textures, from leather headboards to nickel wood finishes. Artisanal metal, decorative shell tabletop finishes, and a marble vanity further convey layers of richness.
