Jour et Nuit Restaurant Slated for New York’s Smyth Hotel

In spring 2010, New York’s Smyth Hotel will introduce Jour et Nuit Restaurant and lounge, spearheaded by native Parisian restaurateur Frederick Lesort. The hotel’s owners, Thompson Hotels, hired AvroKO to re-create the vibrancy of the French Riviera for the bi-level restaurant, bar (housed in the Yabu Pushelberg-designed lobby), and underground Cellar Cocktail Lounge.

"Translated from French meaning ‘day and night,’ Jour et Nuit will offer hotel guests and locals just that; a sophisticated yet comfortable atmosphere to frequent any time of day," says Jason Pomeranc, co-owner of the Thompson Hotels. "We saw Smyth as the ideal opportunity to bring this downtown staple back to life in a developing, vibrant neighborhood, invoking a feeling of refuge, yet traditional sensibility, refinement, and romantic elegance."
