Set within the cultural and architectural legacy of the historic Baixa neighborhood, Hyatt has introduced its Andaz brand to Portugal.

The newly opened Andaz Lisbon, which comprises 170 guestrooms and suites, is designed to reflect the vibrant spirit of the city through bright, bold colors and a layered materiality.

A spotlight on craft at Andaz Lisbon

Guided by the creative vision of designer Patricia Urquiola alongside the team at Moerschel Arquitectos, the interiors showcase a complex pattern of textures, materials, and tones.

The design language showcases traditional Portuguese craftsmanship, with locally inspired details reimagined through warm cork accents, elegant stone finishes, classic mosaic tiles, and rich mahogany. These tactile elements are further elevated by the inclusion of immersive digital art and integrated technology.

Immersive gathering spaces

The rich design narrative extends into the hotel’s culinary spaces including Luzzi, a rooftop restaurant and terrace that reflects Portugal’s historical influence on global cuisine.

At the heart of the property is the Andaz Lounge, a space crafted to bring the kinetic energy of the surrounding streets indoors. Here, intricately patterned tiles run underfoot, grounding a varied and inviting landscape of seating. Rattan and plush velvet chairs frame smooth stone tables, while curved banquettes and a welcoming bar are enveloped by warm wood millwork, all illuminated by soft ambient uplighting.
