Langham Hospitality Group has revealed plans to launch its maiden Italian hotel in Venice. Slated to open in 2023, the Langham, Venice will occupy the former Casino Mocenigo on the island of Murano, which is revered for its legacy of glassmaking. Historic Venetian architecture will be revitalized and serve as inspiration for the renovation by Milanese architecture and design studio Matteo Thun & Partners.
The rich history of the site and its resplendent frescoes and water views will inform much of the rebirth of the property, which will be anchored by a stately courtyard featuring an outdoor swimming pool, manicured garden, and alfresco dining. The 138-key hotel will also be home to two restaurants, including a rooftop concept, as well as the Chuan Spa, a fitness center, ballroom, and multifunctional event spaces.
