Meliá Hotels International has reached an agreement with the Vincci Group to take over the Vincci Buenavista Golf & Spa in Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, to be rebranded as Meliá Hacienda del Conde.

Located along the cliffs of Teno in the island’s northwestern region, the 117-room resort was acquired by Nueva Isla Baja and will be updated to meet Meliá brand standards.

The property, surrounded by a nature reserve, features locally inspired décor in reference to the Canary Islands’ traditional colonial style, as well as views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Amenities of the adults-only property  include an 18-hole Buenavista golf course, designed by Severiano Ballesteros; the YHI Spa with treatment rooms, a thermal circuit, and a full gym; a lagoon-style pool; grand buffet restaurant; poolside bar; an indoor café; and six rooms for meetings or events.
