Perched on the eastern foothills of Santorini’s ancient Thira mountain overlooking the seaside village of Kamari, the new Sandblu resort is now open for its first full season.
The 66-room property, designed by Rockwell Group, embraces bold geometric architecture that appears to cascade down the rugged landscape toward the Aegean Sea, creating an organic connection between cliff and coastline.
Sandblu leans into Greek minimalism
The resort’s palette takes its cues from Santorini’s natural beauty, with whitewashed woods, local stone, marble, and vibrant accents of blue and sage reflecting both the sea and vibrant bougainvillea.
Inside, guestrooms and suites channel a modern Greek minimalism. Many accommodations feature outdoor terraces and private plunge pools, framing sweeping sea views. Three multi-bedroom villas are complete with expansive living spaces, kitchens, and private terraces with infinity pools.
Dining experiences and amenities
Sandblu’s immersive design philosophy carries through to its six dining venues, which each offer a distinct atmosphere.
From the alfresco charm of Nectar to the indoor-outdoor energy of Plateia, every space deepens the connection to the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, a new outpost in Imerovigli extends Sandblu’s DNA to a dramatic clifftop perch overlooking the caldera.
Wellness is also woven into the Sandblu experience, with a modern fitness center along with the Aurora Spa comprising eight treatment rooms, an indoor pool, sauna, and a range of holistic programs.
