Sol Melia has sold its Paradisus Riviera Cancun Hotel to focus on two new adjacent all-inclusive resorts in Mexico’s Riviera Maya: Paradisus Playa del Carmen and Paradisus Xamanm, designed by Spanish architect Alvaro Sans. Playa del Carmen will have 534 suites, six restaurants, five bars, a beach club, and amphitheater overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, while Xaman will feature 325 suites (two of which are presidential), five restaurants, four bars, and a kids’ zone. The two resorts will share the YHI Spa and Health club and more than 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Each property will also offer free-form pools.
