The Singapore office of Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) has completed its design of a new senior living concept, Taikang Community Chuyuan Garden Clubhouse, on the banks of Yanxi Lake in Wuhan, China. The clubhouse is a central leisure facility of Taikang Chuyuan, a luxury community equipped with upscale medical, healthcare, and treatment facilities to further promote healthy and balanced living for seniors. Inspired by a traditional Chinese garden, the Four Seasons Garden lobby welcomes visitors and residents with an expansive skylight that illuminates gray stone floor tiles, rattan seating, and lush greenery. Nearby, the Buffet restaurant is conceived akin to a Chinese Pavilion swathed in an uplifting blanket of blossoms. The bright and airy atmosphere is accented with gray blonde wood for added warmth, while fabric glass showcases delicate cherry blossom embroidery. The onsite multifunctional room embodies versatility in an effort to convey connectivity across a double-height environment that features pitched ceilings clad with wood and carpeting detailed with chartreuse and green hues. Wellness is promoted at the renewal spa, where a minimalist, modern vernacular is expressed via warm light wood and backlit bamboo glass. The pool serves as the key centerpiece of the design, boasting a dramatic medley of mosaics, slatted timber details, and a fenestration frame of glass that highlights lake views. On the second floor, a casual dining option evokes a nest-like ambiance with a blend of slatted screens, cozy lighting, and a reception desk reminiscent of an egg. Blonde wood, cream tones, and notes of azure blue round out the theme. Furthermore, the Clubhouse houses the Scholar’s Pavilion, which features classrooms, a reading room, and art studio.
