The Watergate Hotel to Reopen Summer 2015

Published: December 9, 2014

The Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC will open its doors in summer 2015 following an extensive $125 million renovation.

Italian architect Luigi Moretti originally designed the hotel in 1961. The hotel’s current owners, Euro Capital Properties, have tapped Israeli designer Ron Arad to complement the avant-garde architecture with classic elegance and bold mid-century modern design.

The hotel will consist of 343 guestrooms, half of which will have balconies. Each guestroom will feature river views along with floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms and cutting-edge technology.

Amenities include a casual restaurant and a fine-dining restaurant, as well as a whiskey bar. The Watergate will also boast a palatial rooftop with 360-degree views of the river, the Capitol, and the Washington Monument, as well as a spa.
