Mandarin Oriental is coming back to Manila. Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila is set to open in late 2026, marking the brand’s first presence in the Philippine capital since the closure of its original property in 2014.

For nearly four decades, that hotel shaped the city’s social and cultural fabric. Now, a new address above Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati’s financial district signals its next chapter.

Designed around the Philippine landscape

The hotel’s 275 rooms and suites take design cues directly from the textures, light, and movement of the Philippine landscape. Natural materials, warm timber tones, woven detailing, and artisanal finishes by Filipino craftsmen are complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the interiors with soft natural light.

Entry-level deluxe rooms, beginning at a generous 538 square feet, offer panoramic city and park views, walk-in wardrobes, and separate bath and shower areas. The property also caters to multigenerational travel through connecting room options, dedicated family deluxe rooms and suites, and expansive living configurations designed for extended stays. Guests in club accommodations can access a dedicated lounge and 24-hour butler service as well.

Dining and wellness at Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila

Mandarin Oriental Makati’s five dining and bar concepts are crafted as gathering places for both residents and international travelers. The collection spans modern Cantonese, Filipino, and international cuisine alongside craft cocktails and intimate social spaces.

Meanwhile, the 8,611-square-foot wellness floor draws inspiration from its surroundings, overlooking the lush canopy of Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Makati skyline. An 82-foot outdoor swimming pool anchors the experience.

The spa’s signature therapies are rooted in indigenous Filipino healing practices. Hilot, a traditional form of therapeutic massage and energy realignment, and Sukob ng Manggagamot, which weaves spiritual ritual with herbal medicine and native botanicals, form the backbone of the wellness programming.

Event spaces for small and large gatherings

The hotel’s event offering centers on the Grand Hall, which spans 85,735 square feet with a 26-foot ceiling height and capacity for up to 1,000 guests. Divisible into three halls and complemented by the gallery pre-function space, the venue is supported by additional function rooms, meeting rooms, and a boardroom. Direct access to Ayala Triangle Gardens extends the property’s event offerings outdoors.
