COMPANY OVERVIEW
Published 10 times a year, Hospitality Design magazine is the premier trade outlet and voice for the hospitality design industry. It serves owners, operators, brands, purchasing agents, interior designers, and architects involved in the design of hotels, resorts, restaurants, nightlife, spas, and all other hospitality-oriented projects.
Hospitality Design continues its four-decade mission to connect and enrich the industry through innovative projects, inspiring products, the latest trends, development spotlights, and interesting interviews with the industry’s leading and up and coming professionals.
Hospitality Design not only links buyer and sellers through its magazine, but online at hospitalitydesign.com, and through various in-person events with its sister brand Boutique Design, including two tradeshows, HD Expo + Conference and BDNY, various award programs, thinktanks, forums, regional networking gatherings, and matchmaking.
The preeminent trade show for the hospitality design industry takes place at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Manufacturers get the opportunity to reach hospitality design professionals face-to-face, display/introduce products, and build relationships, while attendees see the newest and best products on the market, listen to compelling panel discussions, and network and socialize. See photos from HD Expo 2021.
An exclusive invitation-only conference where top hospitality design executives gather in a thought camp environment to gain inspiration and insight from visionary speakers from outside the industry, hone their leadership skills, and connect with industry peers.
Lauded as the most prestigious awards for the hospitality industry, the yearly event recognizes some of the best and most innovative achievements in both project and product design from around the globe. The winners and finalists, selected by a prestigious group of industry professionals, are recognized during an awards ceremony in New York, and featured in Hospitality Design magazine. The event also highlights HD’s Designer and Hotelier of the year, plus the winner and finalist of the HD/West Elm Student Product Design Competition. Now in its 32nd year, the lifetime achievement award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions in the hospitality industry and its many facets, including design, architecture, ownership/management, and purchasing. This year’s honorees—Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Neri&Hu, Larry Traxler of Hilton, Jennifer Johanson of EDG Design, and Brad Wilson of Ace Hotel Group and Atelier Ace—will be celebrated at a black-tie gala in New York on November 12th, 2021, providing an unparalleled opportunity to recognize those who have dedicated their careers to enhancing our community.
IIDA/HD Product Design Competition
Co-sponsored by HD and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), these product awards are held in conjunction with the annual HD Expo to recognize quality design. Winners will be revealed and celebrated at HD Expo and featured online and in Hospitality Design magazine.
HD CitySCENE Next Generation Networking events are regional gatherings that bring together up-and-coming and established hospitality professionals—including designers, architects, purchasing agents, brand executives, owners, and more—for a fun evening of networking in cities across the country, including Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Toronto, and Washington, DC.
HD NextGen Forum is an invitation-only conference that blends education, inspiration, business, and socializing for the next generation of hospitality design leaders. From inspirational keynoters to the influential Owners’ Roundtable hosts, the lineup of speakers of the event is always sure to motivate and educate.
Now in its 16th year, Hospitality Design magazine has annually honored a handful of designers, architects, brand executives, and owners as our Wave of the Future—those who are young enough to be considered visionary, but tested enough to be accomplished. Attendees and sponsors of the HD NextGen Forum will hear them live during a panel discussion at the event.
