Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, New York, is planning to unveil Grove Lodge, the 1,200-acre resort’s first new accommodations in more than a century. Designed by Andrew J. Allison of Glens Falls, New York-based firm AJA Architecture and Planning, the lodge will showcase six guestrooms outfitted with locally crafted custom furniture.

With respect to the surrounding environment, the new 7,000-square-foot structure features native stones, reclaimed wood, natural finishes, and sustainable materials throughout. Each guestroom will be clad with a natural stone fireplace, handmade furnishings, and a bathroom complete with a soaking tub and separate shower. Guests booking all six rooms will be offered access to the lodge’s 1,080-square-foot great room. Framed by a grand arched entryway, the space is clad with cathedral ceilings, exposed wooden beams, natural hardwood floors, a wall of windows, and a private stone patio.

Works from local Hudson Valley artists will dress the walls, including Nora Scarlett’s “Trunks in the Gunks” collection.
