Swiss luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet tapped designer Brigette Romanek of Romanek Design Studio to envision AP House Los Angeles, a stylish lounge-like penthouse shop.

The 6,500-square-foot space features a full bar, dining area, watchmaking studio, living room, and a terrace with panoramic views of downtown LA.

The material palette—including layered wood, velvet, mohair, brass, and colored glass in hues of beige and green—was orchestrated to embody Los Angeles’ quintessential cool. The result is akin to the “welcoming ambiance of a sophisticated home,” says Romanek. “[It’s] a space that feels both globally inspired and locally rooted.”

The watchmaking studio, Romanek’s favorite room, showcases “green velvet paired with the dark, layered woods,” she describes. “It adds such a rich texture and depth while evoking such a moodiness.”
