Blue Sky Hospitality Designs OroNero at the JW Marriott Absheron Hotel Baku

OroNero Bar & Ristorante has debuted in the JW Marriott Absheron Hotel Baku in Azerbaijan.

Designed by London-based Blue Sky Hospitality, the restaurant takes design cues from Italian luxury industries that include handbags, jewelry, vintage cars, and gastronomy. Fashioned after a private jet, the lounge features burnished gold buffalo leather panels, pink and gold snake-like upholstery, black gold leather seats, and fretwork panels in ebonized timber.

Inside the restaurant are several niche areas, such as a prosecco bar, grappa library, and salumi kitchen outfitted in amber-veined black marble. Translucent gold mosaic screens also enclose a semi-open kitchen, visible from the tables.

Blue Sky custom developed both amber timber flooring and conceptual wool carpet for the restaurant, which features black gloss tulip chairs and gold-black marble tables. The retro-futuristic space makes an additional impact with conceptual art installations, like a sturgeon sculpture; two dozen life-sized black rabbits that double as lamps; and sculptural gold ravens.
