Standard International has announced the appointment of Amber Asher to the role of CEO. Asher succeeds Amar Lalvani, who held the position for the past eight years and will now serve as executive chairman and remain chairman of the company’s board of directors.
“I could not be more excited to transition the CEO role to Amber. We have worked closely together for over a decade and she has been highly instrumental and effective at growing the company and overseeing our expanding global footprint and talented teams,” Lalvani says. “I have the utmost confidence in her ability to lead the organization into this exciting phase of global growth.”
Since joining the company nearly 10 years ago as executive vice president and general counsel, Asher has been instrumental in accelerating the Standard’s global pipeline. Elevated to the role of president in 2017, Asher continued to steer all corporate transactions for Standard International, including the purchase of a majority stake in the Bunkhouse Group.
Prior to her tenure with the Standard, Asher served as associate general counsel and senior vice president of Morgans Hotel Group after practicing law in the finance and real estate department of Latham & Watkins LLP.
Standard International is the parent company of Standard Hotels, Bunkhouse, and Peri Hotels.
