ELMNT has launched its newest spinning studio on the ground floor of a large residential development in the heart of Montreal’s Griffintown neighborhood. Spread across 1,500 square feet, the location comprises a spacious lobby and spin room wrapped in an all-black color palette—a signature for the brand. Although uniform, both spaces were crafted by locally based design practice Ivy Studio to subtly evoke contrasting energies.
The open lobby is outfitted with a service counter and lockers, as well as a changing area and gender-neutral showers housed beyond a long, curved wall. A long wooden bench and hidden wardrobe infuse a sense of calm across the environment in tandem with black-stained oak furniture and cabinetry and reflective laminate. Cylindrical water fountains emerge from concrete floors to anchor and promote socializing. The spin room, meanwhile, is equipped with a series of color-changing LED lights to establish an energetic flair. Acrylic mirrors and distort surfaces adorn the interior as well.
