Chef Joël Robuchon is bringing L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon back to New York, opening in Manhattan’s Brookfield Place in Battery Park City in March 2015. Along with the fine dining room, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon will also include a more casual bar and lounge area and waterside outdoor seating. L’Atelier was inspired by Robuchon’s culinary experiences and travels internationally—from the Spanish tapas counter, Japanese sushi bar, and French bistro counter concepts. In 2003, Robuchon opened his first L’Atelier in Paris in the historic seventh arrondissement on the Boulevard Saint Germain Des Pres and in Tokyo in the Roppongi district. Following the restaurants’ immediate success, Robuchon expanded L’Atelier to other cities including Las Vegas in 2005 inside the MGM Grand, London at Covent Garden, Hong Kong at the Landmark in 2006, Taipei at the Bellavita shopping center in 2009, a second Paris L’Atelier location in 2010 at the Place de l’Etoile on the Champs Elysees, and in Singapore at the Resorts World Sentosa in 2011. As part of Brookfield Place’s $250 million renovation, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon will join a lineup of restaurant concepts. The final addition will be shops for luxury brands Hermés, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Ermenegildo Zegna and other top fashion brands Calypso St. Barth, Theory, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, and Scoop.
