Experiential entertainment concept Illuminarium Experiences has revealed plans to debut a nightlife venue in July within its Atlanta outpost. Designed by the LAB at Rockwell Group, the Bar at Illuminarium will be crafted to immerse guests in otherworldly environments—from the depths of the ocean to the stratosphere.
“The Bar at Illuminarium is the first-ever immersive nightlife environment,” says David Rockwell, founder and president of Rockwell Group. “We designed the space to complement the truly unprecedented entertainment experience that is Illuminarium. Stunning and ever-changing digital worlds will transport guests to far-flung, surreal destinations through sight, sound, and scale.”
Powered by game engines, the space will deliver cinematic, real-time visuals through laser projection at 16K resolution. Beamformed audio will further punctuate the guest experience.
The Bar at Illuminarium will feature seven global landscape projections: Living Mural, inspired by the tropical artwork of Henri Rousseau; Shibuya Night Market, which will transport visitors to the glowing streetscape of Tokyo after dark; Jardin De Fleurs, a lavish Mediterranean garden retreat in which vegetation will shift before the eyes; Nebulas, which will ensconce guests in a cosmic cloud of stars and interstellar dust; Crystal Excavation, which will host the public in a shimmering crystal cave; Luminous Reefs, an underwater experience among coral reefs; and Sunset in the Stratosphere, which will take guests for a stroll among the clouds at golden hour.
Illuminarium Experiences is also planning to open locations in Las Vegas and Miami in winter 2021/2022 and fall 2022, respectively.
