Chef JJ Johnson and partner Will Sears, both part of Ingrained Hospitality Concepts, have announced that the fast-casual rice bowl eatery FIELDTRIP will grow its footprint in New York. The popular outpost in the Harlem section of Manhattan will be succeeded by two new locations—at Rockefeller Center and in Queens’ Long Island City neighborhood—later this month. The forthcoming Rockefeller Center outpost will be crafted by Chicago-based Harken Interiors, while developers Tishman Speyer will oversee design of the LIC space, which will be located within forthcoming food hall restaurant hybrid JACX&CO. Speaking of the Rockefeller Center locale, Harken Interiors partner Jaclyn Moser says: “With such an iconic address as 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the newest FIELDTRIP location has a heartbeat that is truly born in Harlem and raised in New York. The design reflects the vibrancy, diversity, and authenticity that chef JJ brings to his ingredients, dishes, and communities he serves—honoring the mantra that ‘Rice is Culture.'”
