Hybrid accommodation brand Generator has converted and launched its latest property, Generator Berlin Alexanderplatz, in Germany’s capital.

Transforming the Generator Berlin

The 132-room hostel, which marks the company’s fourth property in the German market, underwent a full transformation led by interior architect Stefanie Jaensch and CEU Architecture and Design.

Social spaces were crafted with a darker, industrial palette punctuated by touches of red tones and bespoke artwork by local wall artist Kollektiv Orange.

Alongside existing twin rooms and shared rooms, a variety of new room categories have been introduced, including new family and private rooms, which can accommodate between four and eight people.

The property is Generator’s first third-party management deal in Europe, signed with asset management company Schroders Capital. The opening of Generator Berlin Alexanderplatz will be followed by the brand’s first third-party management deal stateside: The Paramount Hotel in New York is slated to relaunch this fall with real estate firm RFR.
