Marriott International has announced its expansion into apartment-style accommodations with the launch of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy.
The concept, which will target families and groups of friends looking for more space for stays, will build upon 26 years of experience with Marriott Executive Apartments in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. The company plans to boost its global portfolio with new serviced apartments in the U.S. and Canada.
“Travelers planning vacations and long business trips today are seeking more choice in accommodations, and the introduction of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy responds to those trends while offering developers a premium product backed by our trusted name and distribution platform,” says Marriott president Stephanie Linnartz. “With Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, guests will be able to shop a wider array of accommodation options within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, growing their loyalty to the portfolio and its range of brand offerings.”
Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy will be introduced in the upper-upscale and luxury segments, distinguishing itself from Marriott’s current extended stay brand through designs reflective of the surrounding neighborhoods. Ideal for independent travelers as well, the new brand’s units will comprise separate living rooms and bedrooms, a full kitchen, and an in-unit washer and dryer.
