Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York has opened in Tribeca, marking Groupe Barrière‘s arrival to the U.S. A joint venture between the iconic French brand and Caspi Development, the opulent 97-room urban sanctuary embodies a fusion of modern industrialism and Parisian classism thanks to Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. Also accentuating the property’s Art Deco heritage, the design channels the French capital through elegant fabrics, moldings, and a pastel palette anchored by lavender hues.
“We’re excited for the imminent opening of Hôtel Barrière Fouquet’s New York, which has seen our studio work closely with Caspi Development and the Barriere team on introducing their iconic brand to New York,” Martin Budnizki, founder of his namesake firm, says. “Our design reflects the unique spirit of the Barrière brand whilst feeling relevant and local to the Greenwich neighborhood balancing an elegant Parisian aesthetic with the energy and style of Tribeca.”
A pair of French-inspired eateries serve as key social hubs, including the Fouquet’s New York brasserie and vegetarian eatery Par Ici Café. Titsou Bar is also featured, drawing inspiration from the French speakeasy Le Marta Paris.
Spa Diane Barrière comprises five treatment rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a salon, and fitness center, and on the hotel’s cellar level, the Cannes Cinema screening room rounds out the onsite amenities alongside a pre-function room and two meeting rooms.
Comprising 65 king rooms, 29 corner and terrace suites, and a duplex penthouse suite, accommodations are each styled with Art Deco-inspired furniture, European-style chandeliers, and the property’s own toile de Jouy wallpaper. The Le Grand Appartement Terrasse, the centerpiece of the guestroom lineup, spans two stories of the hotel, ornately awash in soft greens, blues, and golds. Glossier finishes, antiqued mirrors, plush fabrics, a large chandelier, and floor-to-ceiling murals of exotic gardens and landscapes enrich the presidential suite with a palatial grandeur as well. Two and a half bathrooms, entertaining and dining areas, an executive office, a master suite and private terrace, a king bedroom, and three private balconies round out the expansive suite.
