Kimpton has revealed plans to launch a new outpost, Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, in Atlanta this February. Kimpton’s creative director and global senior vice president of design Ave Bradley is collaborating on the 217-room project with New York-based interior design studio Goodrich to characterize the property with a refined midcentury-style aesthetic.
A series of compelling sightlines will be established from the living room to the secret garden and landscaped grounds. Abundant natural light will be infused to highlight the bright interior palette and the precise craftsmanship that defines the custom furniture.
“Throughout the entire the property—from the guestrooms to the restaurants and bars—one of the intentions of our vision for the Sylvan was to work with the inspiring bones of this midcentury building and create a series of intimate spaces visually connected to one another with a subtle shift of identity and vibe as you move throughout them,” Bradley says.
Furthermore, a curved, oversized fireplace comprising stonework and glazed tile accents will anchor the living room, while The Betty, the hotel’s nostalgia-inducing supper club, will recall old Hollywood with dark woods, rich leathers, cool marble, and moody lighting. Coming this April, the Willow Bar will feature a stained glass wall that casts the clean material palette aglow. The property will be crowned by St. Julep, a vibrant rooftop lounge set against panoramic views of the cityscape this spring as well.
