Playa Hotels & Resorts, owner and operator of all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, will begin welcoming guests to Kimpton Tres Ríos in early 2025.
Located in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, the forthcoming property marks the first all-inclusive resort from Kimpton, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury and lifestyle portfolio.
Kimpton Tres Ríos will offer an immersive experience within three unique ecosystems—jungle, mangrove forests, and coastal dunes—across 326 acres.
A first look at Kimpton Tres Ríos
The resort’s architecture will highlight Mayan stone façades to honor the land’s rich history, while its interiors will convey warmth and a sense of natural sophistication thanks to warm Maculis.
The property will feature 355 accommodations spanning 20 categories, including adults-only suites and ocean view swim-out suites with direct access to a plunge pool. Guestrooms will draw inspiration from the tropical surroundings, showcasing a color palette that reflects the serenity of the jungle, white sands, and Caribbean waters.
“The renovation of the Kimpton Tres Ríos hotel has revitalized its iconic hacienda-style architecture, adding a contemporary approach that respects its original essence,” says Fernando Mulet, executive vice president at Playa Hotels & Resorts.
Local craftsmanship is highlighted through the use of regional materials, like national marbles and Chukum, a natural resin renowned for its durability and soft texture.
Resort amenities
The resort will boast seven dining venues, including Kotori, an Asian fusion eatery, and Sabina, which will feature a vibrant mural by Oaxacan artists Raúl Prieto and Bouler that celebrates local biodiversity.
Complementing the dining experience, the property will offer five bars and lounges, each with its own distinct ambiance.
