Montcalm Collection is set to unveil a landmark refurbishment of its London flagship, Montcalm Mayfair, in March.
The transformation of the historic 1700s building is being led by architecture practice Holland Harvey and interior design firm Studio Mica in collaboration with Studio Est, which reimagined the public spaces, including the restaurant, bar, and Grand Ballroom.
Inside Montcalm Mayfair
The interiors blend the historical charm of Georgian architecture with contemporary, handcrafted furnishings and playful, artistic details.
Light-filled public areas are sophisticated yet welcoming with bespoke residential-feel furniture. Rich, natural, earthy tones come through in organic materials, including oak, marble, and brass.
The spaces are adorned with social-impact pieces, such as handmade, naturally felled-wood furniture from Goldfinger and embroidered linen accessories made by refugee artists through SEP Jordan.
In addition, a curated art collection, assembled by Culture A, showcases works from international and London-based artists, including Jake Messing, Valerie Novello, and Petra Börner.
Inviting accommodations
Montcalm Mayfair houses 151 guestrooms, including three signature suites, which feature amenities inspired by five characters—Elizabeth Montagu, George Bridgetower, Dame Nellie Melba, the Marquis of Montcalm, and Constance Spry—that represent the diverse cultural history of the building and neighborhood.
The rooms also spotlight letters written by creative students at London’s Goldsmiths College, and portraits by artists chosen from six UK art schools that were invited to answer an open call.
Dining and wellness
F&B offerings include signature restaurant Lilli by Akira Back, alongside a bar featuring a striking illuminated glass gantry and bespoke chandeliers. Here, a handpainted abstract ceiling mural adds drama, shifting in ambiance from morning to night.
The wellness facilities span a subterranean retreat with a plunge pool, a fully equipped fitness suite, and four treatment rooms.
