The Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront has completed the final two installations of its hotel-wide revitalization. 507 guestrooms and suites and 44,000 square feet of events space, including the M Lounge, received upgrades during the almost two-year renovation.
Contemporary, Oregon-inspired details influenced much of the design. Vibrant green, navy blue, and soft gray hues comprise the new soothing color palette, inspired by the city’s Willamette River and nearby Mount Hood. Customized artwork by Houston-based Paradigm Design Group (PDG) pays tribute to the city’s passion for biking. Bike wheels are artfully incorporated into each guestroom’s focal wall art, depicted in the element of a tree slice, while tire track prints are featured in carpet designs, and a sculptural tire wheel graces the M Lounge. Some specialty guestrooms will offer guests hanging racks for their rides.
“Since Portland has such an energetic, young, hip vibe we wanted to capture the spirit of the city in the new design. Every detail was thoughtfully pulled together,” says Lisa Haude, president of PDG. “We absolutely love the end result and feel like the property truly expresses the people of Portland.”
