Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has debuted Rosewood Mandarina on Mexico’s Pacific coast, marking the brand’s fourth property in the country.
Set between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Riviera Nayarit’s pristine shoreline, the all-suite resort offers 134 accommodations—including three specialty suites and two expansive standalone villas—each with sweeping ocean or jungle views, private plunge pools, and bespoke design touches.
A culturally-rich design
Led by Caroline Meersseman of Bando x Seidel Meersseman, the resort’s architecture and interiors pay tribute to the region’s rich indigenous heritage, particularly the Huichol and Cora cultures.
Collaborating closely with native artisans, the design team infused each space with traditional techniques and symbolic artistry. Yarn paintings crafted from wool and beeswax, ojo de dios motifs, and hand-sculpted Barro Negro pottery punctuate the interiors.
Cora artistry is reflected in the resort’s use of intricate knotting, binding, and fiber constructions—most notably in the arrival pavilion, where the traditional rope-assembly installations create a striking sense of place.
F&B and amenities at Rosewood Mandarina
Culinary offerings highlight both place and perspective. La Cocina serves vibrant Mexican fare just steps from the beach, while Buena Onda channels coastal Spanish flavors in a relaxed seaside setting. Later this year, the resort will debut Toppu, a refined Japanese restaurant perched at the mountain’s peak, and Barra Peñasco, a cliffside cocktail bar with panoramic views.
Amenities include four pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, the brand’s signature Asaya Spa, and the Rosewood Explorers Club for children, featuring immersive, heritage-inspired programming.
Guests also have access to the Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club and the Greg Norman-designed course at Mandarina Golf Club.
