Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has opened Shangri-La Hotel, Bengaluru in Karnataka, South India.
Perched on a two-acre plot approximately 2,900 feet above sea level, the 19-story hotel is located between the central business district and the city’s residential suburb.
The 397-room hotel greets visitors within an approximately 30-foot-high lobby decked out in cylindrical chandeliers, marble columns, wall sconces, and intricate Indian motifs. Interiors are characterized by a floral motif evident in the its tiles, carpeting, and wood-carved screens. The lobby lounge features a sandstone wall installation from Rajasthan, India that depicts a gold-stained palm leaf pattern.
Beige hues highlight the variously sized guestrooms, which feature tufted leather headboards, patterned carpeting, locally sourced marble, and spacious guest baths. With a palette of gold, plum, and green, the property’s 30 suites range from 1,054 to 6,178 square feet and include three Governor suites and the Shangri-La suite.
F&B outlets include Shang Palace, which features two private rooms, along with gold and silver leaf, pearl, rock crystal, and marble elements. The lobby-level b Café—which adjoins b Café Pastry—offers upholstered seating amongst deep red crown molding and decorative black screens.
Three more restaurants will open soon, including Caprese, Yataii, and the rooftop Hype bar—slated to open by the end of the year.
Amenities include a spa with nine treatment rooms, an outdoor pool, a kid’s pool, a gym, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, the 7,954-square-foot Grand Ballroom, and the Horizon Club lounge area.
