Convene—a global hospitality company that designs and manages meeting, event, and flexible office spaces—has debuted its newest UK venue, Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s, located in London’s Paternoster Square.
Spanning 45,000 square feet across two floors in a newly redeveloped Class-A building, the Convene outpost comprises seven configurable meeting spaces, along with a gallery with a snack and beverage bar and café seating.
The centerpiece of the venue is a 900-person grand hall, the largest space in Convene’s portfolio as well as the largest single above-ground meeting room in London.
The design of Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s
Designed in partnership with architecture and design firm Woods Bagot, the meeting venue draws from Elizabethan design aesthetics. Above, floating ceiling timber rafts feature a quintessential Elizabethan diamond pattern while underfoot, varying floor finishes include a basket weave-inspired timber floor at reception along with detailed tapestry and textile carpets throughout.
Colonnades, reminiscent of those in the surrounding Paternoster Square, break up and frame built-in seating and snack bar elements. Bold moments of color punctuate the space via furniture, light fixtures, and floral wallpapers.
This is the second time Convene and Woods Bagot have partnered. In 2022, the two companies collaborated on the design of Convene 22 Bishopsgate.
