The details: When Shisen Hanten by Chen Kentaro opened its reimagined Singapore space in December 2024, interior architect Nomura and the Artling worked to create an experience where fine dining and art commingle. Curated by the art consultancy’s cofounder Talenia Phua Gajardo, the collection was inspired by chef Kentaro’s menu and culinary heritage. “There are many different materials featured in the artwork, including ceramics, fabrics, paintings, paper works, sculpture, and more,” says Phua Gajardo. Notable pieces include Yasuaki Onishi’s Stone on Boundary Singapore, which explores the evolution of natural river stones into sculptural form; and Beili Liu’s Resonance (shown), a site-responsive installation of translucent pebble-like forms that shimmer like water and embody migration, memory, and environmental concerns.
