What we’re looking forward to: With its modernist marble façade from Yiannis Moralis and a celebrity and artist clientele, the Hilton Athens at the foot of Lycabettus Hill fast became a city landmark after opening in 1963. Now reborn as Conrad Athens, the Ilisian, the hotel ushers in a new glamorous era with 307 midcentury-styled guestrooms and nine F&B concepts as well as a spa complemented by one of the city’s largest outdoor pools and a greenery-laden running track winding across the rooftop mezzanine.
