What we’re looking forward to: For more than 200 years, the College of St. Francis Xavier in Lisbon’s Alfama district served as the Portuguese Royal Navy Hospital. With 170 rooms and 25 long-stay residences, the site’s redevelopment as the Standard Lisbon in the Palácio Santa Clara complex deftly mixes heritage elements with contemporary ones like a rooftop bar and terrace, a handpainted mural from local artist Madi, and colorful interiors.
