The 408-key aloft Abu Dhabi, which opened October 25th, is supplying more than 90 percent of its hot water through energy harnessed from solar panels. Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), which owns the RMJM Architects-designed hotel, installed 560 panels covering nearly 25,000 square feet on the roof of a car park. The technology is expected to save the hotel 870 megawatt hours of electricity every year by using sunlight to generate energy. ADNEC also added recycling stations to the hotel, which is connected to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
