Real estate asset management company Norfin Group has begun construction on Aroeira Collections by Missoni. The project marks the Italian fashion house’s first branded residential development in Portugal.
Located across 865 acres in Herdade da Aroeira near Lisbon, the community will comprise a central hotel surrounded by a series of residences across multiple typologies.
A design that speaks to the landscape
With architecture led by Atelier Daciano da Costa and interiors by Missoni, the design emphasizes integration with the coastal landscape and minimal intervention in the natural environment. The biophilic approach replaces gates and fences with planting and pathways, allowing gardens to transition into woods rather than walls.
Missoni brings its iconic patterns, vibrant colors, and timeless elegance to the interiors of both the residences and hospitality spaces. Hotel guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows framing pine canopies, while azure tones reference the Atlantic beyond the cliffs.
The residences at Aroeira Collections by Missoni
The residences are distributed across three typologies, each responding to the natural contours of the site. The houses, situated among the pine trees, offer two-, three-, and four-bedroom configurations and are built using materials that reflect the local environment.
The 28 villas, meanwhile, range from one to five bedrooms. Occupying an untouched stretch surrounded on three sides by golf greens, eight premium villas overlook the course, while 20 serviced villas integrate directly into the resort. Their split-level layouts raise living areas toward natural light and views, while lower levels open to private patios with dipping pools.
Finally, the 40 two- and three-bedroom apartments at the periphery of the site are crafted to serve as pieds-à-terre, weekend retreats, guest homes, or investment units.
Hotel and amenities
Rooted amid cliffs, dunes, pine forests, and the Atlantic shoreline, the Aroeira Collections Hotel features one- and two-bedroom hotel units that will operate under a resort model serving both visitors and residents.
Daily life within the development is designed to unfold on foot, with residents able to walk to the restaurant, shop at the greengrocer, or enjoy the swimming pool and wellness facilities.
The development also features two PGA-branded golf courses operating as PGA Aroeira Lisbon, a new clubhouse, spa and wellness center, swimming pools, tennis and padel courts, and restaurants.
Initial completion of the property is expected by the end of 2028.
