Blu Ivy Set for a 2020 Debut in Philadelphia

Local practice DAS Architects has announced plans to craft Blu Ivy, a new 14-story hotel and restaurant in Philadelphia that is set to open in 2020.

Slated for development adjacent to Jefferson Hospital, the 86-key hotel will feature a façade of glass, aluminum, and bronze accents. A warm, neutral palette will permeate the interior to emphasize elements like the expansive green walls one each floor.

“The elegance and comfort of Blu Ivy will be a welcome addition to the surrounding medical neighborhood,” says David A. Schultz, cofounder and principal of DAS Architects. “It will offer a serene environment for those needing to heal or simply to visitors who want a quiet contemplative place in Midtown.”

The two-story Mediterranean restaurant Anthos, which translates to “flowering,” will reference the Greek heritage of the owners. Embellished with a steel pergola and planters of ivy, it will welcome diners with folding glass partitions that extend the 198-seat dining room into the streetscape. A 23-seat bar will also be featured onsite.
