This year’s recipient is Melissa Shelton, founder and creative director of Dear Valentine, a boutique hospitality development and management company with a portfolio of soulful guesthouses in New Orleans.
Established in 2024, Dear Valentine is rooted in historic preservation, thoughtful restoration, and a deep sense of place. The brand partners with local designers, makers, and preservation architects to create layered, character-driven stays. Its portfolio now spans seven properties across NOLA’s Bywater, Lower Garden District, Garden District, and Uptown neighborhoods, including sister homes Lyra and Luna, the Bouligny, and Chartres 1883.
Shelton brings extensive experience in design, hospitality, and brand strategy to Dear Valentine, having held senior leadership roles at Artek, Carl Hansen & Søn, Vitra, and Design Within Reach. She previously served on the board of the Female Design Council and continues to mentor female entrepreneurs in business development, brand management, and strategic partnerships.
Join us as we celebrate Shelton at the 2026 Gold Key Awards gala on Monday, November 9, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York. Get your tickets today!
