The Breakers Palm Beach has unveiled a sweeping $15 million renovation of its Beach Club Restaurant, once again partnering with Tihany Design to reimagine one of the resort’s signature dining destinations. Led by principal Alessia Genova, the redesign transforms the oceanfront venue into a refined retreat inspired by the Italian Riviera and the Mediterranean coastline.

Channeling Italian garden courtyards

Reserved exclusively for hotel guests and club members, the day-to-evening restaurant is tucked within the resort’s private Beach Club at the southern edge of the 140-acre property, where panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean anchor the experience. The design unfolds as a sequence of interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces, layered with natural light and a palette of sunwashed stone, bleached oak, soft azure hues, and warm terracotta that evokes the effortless rhythm of Mediterranean living.

Guests now arrive through a tranquil entry sequence centered on a sculptural fountain, a modern-day interpretation of the piazzas and garden courtyards found throughout Italy. Beyond, the restored loggia has been enclosed for year-round comfort while preserving its defining arched architecture and open sightlines to the sea, creating a breezy transition between interior and exterior spaces.

At the center of the restaurant, dual back-to-back bars serve both the loggia and main dining room, underscoring the property’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Flexible dining areas can be configured for private gatherings, while an elevated wine room overlooks the restaurant below, celebrating the heritage of Italian winemaking.

Outside, the terrace has been refreshed with a European-inspired checkerboard floor surrounded by lush landscaping that recalls the Mediterranean coast. Olive, cypress, and citrus trees reinforce the garden-like setting, blurring the boundaries between architecture and nature.

Details and art to look for at the Beach Club

Every design element was custom created for the project, from bespoke furnishings and handcrafted lighting to richly textured wall finishes. Modular chandeliers shift in scale throughout the restaurant, while handpainted tile, natural stone, brass accents, and warm wood detailing create a layered material palette inspired by travertine, terracotta, and the colors of land and sea.

Tihany Design also collaborated with Kevin Barry Art Advisory to develop a site-specific art program that reinforces the Mediterranean narrative. Murals, sculptural works, and curated gallery installations interpret coastal landscapes, vineyards, and the changing qualities of Mediterranean light, adding an element of storytelling throughout the restaurant.
