Benjamin Moore has selected Blue Nova 825 as its Color of the Year 2024. Inspired by the brilliance of a new star formed in space, the cosmic blend of blue and violet elicits a sense of adventure—an invitation to explore the unknown and expand horizons.
“Blue Nova 825 is an alluring mid-tone that balances depth and intrigue with classic appeal and reassurance,” says Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore’s color marketing and development director.
Depending on the application, this shade of blue can be either calming or invigorating, making it a versatile color that can blend into both contemporary and traditional design styles. It is part of the Color Trends 2024 palette, which features a total of 10 hues:
- Blue Nova 825
- White Dove OC-17
- Pristine OC-75
- Topaz 070
- Teacup Rose 2170-50
- Honeybee CSP-950
- Regent Green 2136-20
- Antique Pewter 1560
- Polar Sky 1674

Benjamin Moore announced the cosmos-inspired color at Florida’s Cape Canaveral rocket launch site, in partnership with aerospace manufacturer Blue Origin and its nonprofit Club for the Future. The partnership was created to inspire future generations about STEM education and promote careers in the space industry. It also aims to reimagine design at local community hospitals and create space-themed experiences at future events.
The Color of the Year 2023 was Raspberry Blush 2008-30.
