Design firm KTGY has acquired GDA Architects, a Dallas-based architectural firm specializing in high rise residential, hospitality, and industrial design. The unification will strengthen KTGY’s presence in Texas and expand its high rise portfolio, while giving GDA access to a national network of design experts. With this acquisition, KTGY will now have seven office locations coast to coast (Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Irvine, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Washington, DC).
Global design firm Perkins Eastman has announced the promotions of 80 staff members this year. The title changes include 18 individuals promoted to associate principal and principal, 27 to senior associates, and 35 to associates.
Luxury Frontiers, a design firm specializing in architecture and interior design for immersive eco-tourism hospitality, is reorganizing its design and project services as Luxury Frontiers Studio. Founder Luca Franco will continue to lead the company as CEO, while Graeme Labe will transition into the role of managing partner and chief design officer. Guy McGregor, who brings over 21 years of expertise from his tenure at Singita, has been appointed managing director to oversee the studio’s day-to-day operations.
Hospitality design company WATG has acquired architecture firm SOSH. The two firms will operate as a unified business entity moving forward. The addition of SOSH’s Atlantic City, New Jersey office will mark WATG’s ninth regional office, following its expansion into the Dallas market this fall. The Texas office supports clients in the eastern and sunbelt regions of the U.S., as well as Central and South America.
Architecture and design firm //3877 has welcomed three new team members: interior designer Abigail Fundling, architect Caroline Zimmermann, and senior interior designer Christina Kerr.
BHDM Design, a bicoastal interior design firm, has promoted Stephanie Metzger, Sheila Cahill, and John Doyle to new directorial positions. Metzger has been appointed as senior director of concept and experience, Cahill will hold the role of senior director of design and development, and Doyle will serve as director of design and development.
Global design firm Pierre-Yves Rochon has hired David Buffery as principal and senior design director to lead the creative vision for PYR’s Chicago studio. Buffery brings more than 27 years of industry expertise, with notable Asia projects like the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, the Ritz-Carlton in Cotai, Macau, and the Banyan Tree Hotel, Macau.
Brand Bureau, AvroKO’s global creative agency, has appointed Marion Emmanuelle Bullôt as global director as part of the company’s launch into the EMEA market. This marks Bullôt’s return to Brand Bureau, where she was co-managing director prior to serving as managing partner of AvroKO Hospitality Group (AHG).
Pyramid Global Hospitality has merged the company’s European division, Hamilton Pyramid Europe, with Axiom Hospitality. The strategic combination of the two hotel management companies adds more than 30 additional properties to Pyramid’s European portfolio, creating a united organization that now manages 48-plus hotels and more than 8,000 keys.
