Hospitality Design announces the honorees for HD Expo + Conference’s inaugural Women in Design Awards. Presented during a breakfast session in partnership with NEWH, the award celebrates five influential women who have helped propel the industry forward. Taking place on Tuesday, May 2nd at 8:30 a.m., the ticketed event will also include a conversation between HD editor in chief Stacy Shoemaker Rauen and Ashley Kasevich, a lead competitive intelligence analyst at experiential e-commerce company Zappos.

Meghann Day

As a partner of HBA’s San Francisco office and recently named to the newly created role of president of the Americas for the firm, Day represents a new guard of leadership. In her 16-plus-year career with HBA, Day has risen through the ranks from designer to partner and has been instrumental in the prosperity of the studio, from leading high-profile hospitality projects to fostering rising talent from the San Francisco team.

The Standard Hotels
Having cemented a lasting impact on the hospitality design industry over the last two-plus decades, in her current role, Haller leads all design and development for the Standard Hotels, including award-winning projects such as the Standard, London. Haller honed her design vision and leads her team with the acuity she’s gained in previous roles with companies like Equinox Hotels, Ian Schrager Company, and SOM.

Alda Ly Architecture
A forward-thinker whose eponymous firm has made its mark changing the landscape of wellness, healthcare, and workplace design, Ly’s focus on the user and incorporating elements of hospitality has been challenging the status quo since its founding in 2017. An empathetic project leader, prior to founder her New York-based practice, Ly helped launch nonprofit practice MASS Design Group and worked at Rafael Viñoly Architects, 212box, HWKN, and Leong Leong.

Celebrating five years with Las Vegas Sands Corp, Madigan is at the forefront of the company’s strategy and mindset around design excellence as key factor for success. She brings her combination of creative and business acumen to her role, managing billions of dollars of CapEx and new development projects for the company while overseeing a global design team. With a 30-plus-year career focused on luxury hospitality, Madigan has also served as vice president for creative at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and director of interior design at Rosewood Hotels.

With experience in government, retail, and hospitality, including roles with the Walt Disney Corporation and as director of corporate responsibility for North America for Tommy Hilfiger, Wilson brings her vision and experience to her current leadership role with IHG. Part of her focus is championing supplier diversity efforts and partnerships to maximize the company’s procurement endeavors.
