Corinthia Hotels Revives a Historic Icon in Bucharest

The property reemerges with 30 elegantly restored suites and three dining venues

Corinthia Grand Hotel du Boulevard Bucharest has officially opened its doors in Romania’s capital.

The structure, originally inaugurated in 1873 as Bucharest’s most distinguished hotel, was the first in the city to introduce electric lights and an elevator, cementing its place in Romania’s cultural history.

Restored by QP with interiors by the G.A Group, the national monument returns with just 30 suites that marry Belle Époque grandeur with modern refinement.

The hotel houses three signature venues—Boulevard 73, Sass’ Restaurant & Lounge, and Heritage Bar.

Boulevard 73, set in the former grand ballroom, features soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers. Sass’ Restaurant & Lounge brings the vibrancy of famed Monaco establishment Sass’ Café to Bucharest with Mediterranean flair, while Heritage Bar pays homage to the city’s golden age with afternoon tea service and a cocktail menu inspired by local history.

Art is integral to the hotel’s revival, with floral arrangements by Nicu Bocancea of Iris, curated works by British artist Simon Casson (exhibited at the London Art Fair), and the signature Elysee scent by Cristina Balan infused throughout the space.
